Xander recently joined us for a week of work experience, and came away with far more than expected. Before the placement, office life and the services Colbea provides were entirely unknown to them. By the end of the week, that had completely changed. Xander left with a real sense of what working in a supportive, busy environment is like, and a genuine appreciation for the breadth of what Colbea does for businesses in Colchester and Tendring.
Starting from scratch
Coming into a new environment for the first time can feel daunting, but Xander settled in quickly and got stuck in from the start. No prior experience of office work was needed. What mattered was curiosity, a willingness to contribute, and the right support around them.

Social media and community content
One area Xander worked on during the placement was producing social media posts for Colbea. This gave them a first-hand look at how a business communicates with its community, what kind of content connects with people, and how to write with a clear audience in mind.
Developing what we offer at The Digital Forum
Xander also helped with development work around The Digital Forum, contributing ideas and practical support as we continue to build what the space offers. It was a valuable project to be involved in, giving a real sense of how new services take shape from the ground up.
Impressed enough to recommend
Perhaps the most rewarding thing was hearing Xander's reflection at the end of the week. They said they had been genuinely impressed by the variety of solutions and services Colbea provides, and that they would now recommend Colbea to anyone thinking of starting their own business or looking to scale. That means a great deal to us.
