Fresh Eyes @ Colbea 🎓 Tarran's First Work Experience Week

We love welcoming new faces to the Colbea family, and this month we've been delighted to have Tarran Nwosu join us for his work experience. It's always exciting to see our workplace through fresh eyes, and Tarran has already brought brilliant energy and curiosity to the team. Take a look of what Tarran thought of his first week at Colbea.

Tarran's Words

For one week now I have spent my days working in Colbea, a not-for-profit business support agency. So far, I can honestly say it has been an enjoyable and eye-opening experience. It does not feel like gruelling tasks one after the other, but an educational introduction into what a job may feel like and the daily tasks a workplace might undertake.

So far, I have been asked to complete multiple tasks which all taught me a key skill that could be utilised in the workplace. I have completed administrative duties such as organising equipment and putting tenants mail into their post-boxes. Furthermore, I have used Excel to make various spreadsheets organising data and notes from Colbea’s business advice sessions. Moreover, I created multiple social media posts using Canva and mood boards for the interior of Colbea’s new office: Digital Forum. In fact, I also fixed a coffee machine and learned about the fire alarm tests on Wednesdays.

I have learnt multiple skills an employee may need to have. These skills include organisational skills, how to use software such as Excel and Canva, multi-tasking and more. All these skills will be vital in the future for me, so I am overjoyed I learnt them.

I have enjoyed my work experience so far. The things I enjoyed the most about my work experience is using Canva to make marketing for the social media, seeing the Digital Forum in person, watching an interview for a potential new addition to the staff and the freedom I have compared to an average school day.

I have learnt about many of the services Colbea offers and I have to say that the hotdesking is what I find the most intriguing. Hotdesking is my favourite service that Colbea offers as I like how it supports workers who don’t have a space to work with no distractions. I think the hotdesking can really support various people whilst including benefits such as free tea and coffee and free use of the meeting rooms, all for a relatively cheap price. And fun fact I really like tea, so I am all for the services provided with hotdesking.

Overall, after my first week with Colbea I can say that so far, I have very much enjoyed it, and I have learned many new skills that I can use later in my life. I am very excited for what is to come during my second week at Colbea. I foresee multiple opportunities that lead to more knowledge and skills which I can use in my future.
