Change is part of growth, and this month we're marking an important transition in Colbea's leadership. We're welcoming two brilliant new directors to our Board whilst saying a fond farewell to two people who've made a real difference over the past four years. 

 

We're thrilled to welcome Eve Calderbank and Caroline Nicholls to the Colbea Board! 

 

Eve is a passionate advocate for equality and inclusion, known across Essex for her brilliant Ambitious Women in Essex initiative. You might have spotted the incredibly successful co-working days she runs, including one day per month right here at Colbea! She has vast experience forging collaborative relationships and building strong strategic networks, galvanising a community of successful businesswomen across the county. Eve brings a wealth of experience to the Board from her time at the NHS, in Finance, and most recently in Economic Development at Essex County Council. 

 

Caroline joins us as a Director and Partner at Thompson Smith and Puxon, one of our region's leading law firms with roots stretching back to 1879. Based in Colchester, TSP combines local knowledge with city firm experience, and Caroline will bring invaluable legal expertise to help guide Colbea's continued growth. 

 

Their fresh perspectives and passion for supporting small businesses will help us do even more for our community. We can't wait to get started! 

It's always bittersweet saying goodbye to people who've given so much. After four years on the Board, Gavin and Susanna have completed their tenure as Directors, and what a four years it's been. 

 

Their guidance has been invaluable, helping Colbea support hundreds of local businesses across our community. From strategic decisions that shaped our direction to the everyday support they've provided, their contribution has been immense. That's a legacy to be genuinely proud of. 

We wish them both the very best for whatever comes next, and we know they'll continue doing brilliant things wherever their paths lead. 

This transition represents the natural evolution of any thriving organisation. New voices bring new ideas, and we're excited about the fresh energy Eve and Caroline will bring to our Board.
