Jim Addison, senior manager at Colchester Institute, has joined the non-executive board of Colbea, the local business enterprise agency.
Mr Addison brings with him expertise in education that promises to be of immense value to Colbea as it seeks to reach students and young people in vocational training or considering self-employment, as well as those who hope to become young entrepreneurs. A magistrate since 1990, Mr Addison has held a management post at Colchester Institute for almost 20 years and, since 2004, has been a non-executive director of the local acute hospital trust. During his career he has taught mathematics at two local schools, as well as teaching in Uruguay for 4 years.
Bob Baggalley, Colbea’s Chief Executive, said: “The skill set contained within our board members is already considerable. Jim’s knowledge of education will add to those skills and help further the work we do with local schools and colleges where we aim to provide students with a grounding in business skills that complements their vocational training.”
