Colbea, Colchester’s Business Advice Centre, is celebrating the success of yet more clients in the recent Superstart competition, run by the Colchester Gazette, Larking Gowen and Fisher Jones Greenwood, which celebrates the innovation and success of new businesses. Sharon Fernandez, creator of The Colchester Baby Book, had received business advice and training from Colbea in the early days of her business venture.
Last year, the winner, Amanda Ruiz with Peruvian Knitwear, and the runner up, Brad Seaborne with Violent Delights, benefited from business advice and training provided by Colbea during their early days in business. This year it was not only Sharon Fernandez who had been helped by Colbea; two other finalists – Mark Forde and Ibrahim Kalaii – had also attended Colbea’s Start In Business course, which gives advice and essential information in all the areas that new business owners need to address.
Bob Baggalley, Chief Executive at Colbea, said: “We congratulate Sharon on her innovative ideas, her hard work and her success. Her example should help prove to others thinking about starting a business that time spent in training and gaining advice at the outset is more than paid back in the long run.”
