Men and women about to leave HM Forces are being given new direction with a training course run by Colchester’s leading business advice centre, Colbea.
The course, entitled Enterprise Pathfinder, provides an introduction to business for Services personnel who are thinking about becoming self-employed, would like to set up a business, or simply want an insight into business. Funded by the Forces, it gives a broad overview of the business world to people who have spent several years as military personnel but now want to move on to careers within civilian life.
Colbea took part in a recent Army Jobs Fair in Colchester where Dominic Nicholls was the lucky winner of a Satellite Navigation System. Mr Nicholls is currently employed as a crane operator, having recently left the Forces. Bob Bunn, Business Advisor at Colbea, was present at the Jobs Fair and explained: “The Enterprise Pathfinder Course looks at how businesses are set up, how they operate and the key skills that successful business people need. It shows delegates how to assess what they’ve learnt during their careers in the Forces and build on those skills as they step out on a new path.” The Colchester Jobs Fair was just one of several UK wide locations at which Colbea will be promoting Enterprise Pathfinder training over the coming months.
Colbea has developed this training course as a preferred supplier to the Career Transition Partnership. More details are available at www.colbea.co.uk/pathfinder
