Work on the £2.4 million North Colchester Business Incubation Centre on Severalls Business Park is about to begin.
The Centre will provide 26 units for small and start-up businesses in a true incubation environment, and will be managed by Colbea following the success of the Colchester Business Centre in Magdalen Street.
Since the Colchester Business Centre opened in 2000 it has helped hundreds of businesses get off the ground by providing flexible office space with 'easy in easy out' terms and on-hand advice from Colbea's team of business advisors and trainers.
Colbea's Chief Executive, Bob Baggalley, explained how the new centre will work: "We offer monthly lets so that people don't have to invest a huge amount of money and are not committed to long leases. There's a very supportive culture and we encourage businesses to network together and trade with each other. Another centre will mean more businesses will get the support they need to thrive, which in turn will mean more jobs in Colchester."
The new centre has been jointly funded by the East of England Development Agency and Haven Gateway Partnership. Colchester Borough Council owns the site.
For information on the new units, when they will be available and to be one of the first to take a look around, contact Bob Baggalley on 01206 548833 or send an email.
