Mollybol

An author, property developer, professional E-bay trader and even an agony aunt! Bob Pugh does it all, very successfully, but in 2006 he needed advice and he came to Colbea business adviser, Liz Kelly to get it.

A man of many different professions, surprisingly his business only really started a few years ago when Bob hit 40 and decided his life needed a change in direction. Having worked for 24 years as a high level sales director at BT, he wanted to get out of the “rat race”, to spend more time with the family and have a more flexible life, so he resigned.  However, he also still needed a challenge and as he was already an amateur Ebay trader with the usual household items Bob decided to start trading professionally in 2006 under the name of Mollybol on Ebay. His main online business began as a toy shop selling premium brands such as Bob the Builder and Duplo, and diversified into fancy dress costumes for children and power tools. The business and Bob’s knowledge of online trading has gone from what started out as a hobby to becoming an expert, which has lead to many more business opportunities including the Ebay Bulletin (where he also writes an Agony Aunt column to help Ebay users) and two best selling books!

Just over a year after setting up his main business online as well as developing all these other highly successful occupations he came to Colbea for guidance. Primarily he needed to know whether to take Mollybol to the next level, move from his easily commutable office in his back garden in Clacton-on-Sea, be a business with a manageable turnover and have only a Christmas frenzy of business activity or potentially return to the “rat race”. Liz helped Bob by creating a business plan and a business model he could work with, plus identifying targets for him to achieve. With Colbea’s help as Bob says “I have gained some clarity and choices so that I can do all the things I want to do, develop my business model overtime and keep the challenge of running Mollybol, but also have the time to go on holiday and enjoy life, which for me includes writing another book.”   Bob goes on to say “I can’t praise Colbea highly enough, every business should have a Liz!”
